Buddy Goes Raspberry Picking.

This evening,

Buddy and I were sitting outside.

She suddenly began barking.

Enthusiastically.

I looked around, but all I could see was a cat.

The one cat that she loves to hate (she does have kitty friends, but this cat is not one of them).

So, I told her, "you don't need to get so excited over just a cat."

She looked at me like I was the crazy one.

I went outside to see what Buddy was barking at,

And what did I see?

But, a turtle looking at me!

Of course, I had to walk a little bit down the road to see it, because Buddy's barking had successfully discouraged it from coming into the yard.

This is the scene I found when I got back from the bathroom one night this summer. 

You know you spend too much time with canine companions,

rather than human companions, when you realize that you've found the perfect ringtone...For your dog.

Like she might try to call you.

Or something.

It's you Mommy, it's you!

I smelled something. Something that smelled bad, and I said so.

But, I couldn't figure out what it was, and I said so.

So, Buddy, ever helpful, ran up to me and poked her nose against my backside,
as if to say, "it's you mommy, it's you."

It's you that smells bad.

Gee, thanks Bud.
